Struggling to deal with a “difficult” person?

At times employees with complex needs or issues can come across as ‘difficult’ to others; but with the right diagnosis and support, both the individual and those they interact with can experience improved relations and better outputs.

Knowing what kind of support to provide can, however, be a problem for the non-specialist.

At Gem we provide the solution by:

    • diagnosing the most appropriate form of support

    • delivering this support using our specialist experience and qualifications.

There are a number of underlying issues that can affect performance at work, for example:

  • anxiety & stress
  • ability to cope with change
  • self-esteem
  • confidence
  • relationship issues
  • difficulty managing anger
  • returning to work following absence
  • personal crisis
  • coping with loss or grief

We provide confidential one to one sessions on these and other issues affecting individuals’ productivity:

For example:

The performance of a normally effective and outgoing Marketing Officer had dramatically deteriorated, giving her manager cause for concern. Her time-keeping was poor, her concentration low and she was making several mistakes in her work.

Through her one to one sessions it emerged that she was having difficulties in her personal relationships, was lacking in self-confidence and had low self-esteem – and all this was affecting her work performance.  By working on each of these areas in the sessions, she made some important changes in her personal life, regained control of her work and was subsequently promoted to a junior manager role.
