Performance Management

Workshops on Appraisal Skills and Managing Performance.

Courses typically cover how to:

  • set objectives
  • identify development needs
  • appraise performance

Knowing the core components for managing performance is important. At the same time, our experience of designing and delivering several programmes has told us that managers still experience challenges when implementing their organisation’s performance management scheme. For example, fitting in end of year appraisals into an already busy work schedule, or making the experience positive even when there may be difficult messages to give…

Our courses, therefore, provide techniques for enabling managers to:

  • use their organisation’s performance management scheme as a useful tool to help them achieve their own and their team’s objectives

  • gain direct reports’ buy-in to goals and targets

  • create development plans that are challenging yet realistic

  • give feedback in a manner that encourages and motivates.

As well as delivering stand-alone workshops on skills for managing performance, we also provide end to end consultancy, from design of the performance management scheme itself through to one to one support for individual managers.
